All The Food On This Island Is Locked Inside A Vault, Which Can Be Opened Only By An Ordinary American Taxpayer Named Bob. Every Day, The Congresspersons Are Given A Section Of The Tax Code, Which They Must Rewrite So That Bob Can Understand It. If He Can, He Lets Them Eat That Day; If He Can't, He Doesn't.
I Am A Little Suspicious Of Industry Paradigms. I Feel Like So Many Movies And Tv Shows Feel So Familiar Because Of Over-reliance On These Paradigms.

Some Tv Shows Are Like Really Good Novels In That There Are Enough Episodes That You Start To Have Your Own Feelings About How The Characters Should Act. When The Scriptwriters Go Slightly Wrong, When They Make The Character Make A Left Turn That He Or She Wouldn't Do, You Know Enough About The Characters To Say, "no, That's Not What She Would Do There. That's Wrong." You Can Actually Argue With A Tv Show In A Way That You Can't Do As Much With Movie - You Inhabit A Tv Show In The Way You Inhabit A Novel.
Parodies Of Commercials Are By No Means New And Have Been Popular Going Back To Black-and-white Tv Shows Of The '50s.
