There Was This Project I Really Wanted Before 'glee' And I Didn't Get Cast - I Went In About 13 Times And I Was So Bummed When I Didn't Get It. But Then A Month Later I Got Cast On 'glee,' And I Felt Like It Was Meant To Happen.
In High School, I Taught Dance Classes For 3-year-olds Up To 16-year-olds, So Between That And Some Bat Mitzvah Money, I Saved Up A Pretty Good Nest Egg To Move To L.a.
I Never Solicited Myself As A Singer Until I Realized I Could Use That To A Musical Standpoint. I Loved Musicals Growing Up. Classic Films Were Some Of The Only Ones I Watched. So When The Opportunity Came For The Show To Audition, Of Course It Was All Of A Sudden, "i Sing! I Sing! Send Me In, Please. I Beg Of You."
Photography Has Definitely Been My Favorite Way To Remember Things. At Least For Me That’s How My Brain Processes Things, Of Memories Or Moments - If I Take A Picture Of It I Can Remember So Many More Details. I Think It’s About Choosing The Exact Picture In My Head That Signifies Or Symbolizes A Moment - Almost As If You’re Using Film. It’s Almost Archaic.
I Didn't Take The Typical Path And Go To College After High School. Instead, I Saved Up Money From Teaching Dance Classes And Moved To L.a. But My Family Was So Supportive - I Never Felt Pressure From Them. It's Crucial To Find A Support System, Even If It's Not Your Family.
We Do Have A Love Fest [at Home]. It's Like, 'i'm Making You A Cupcake.' Then It's Like, 'well, I Made You A Cake.' And It's Like, 'well I Made You A Cake With A Cupcake On Top And Candles.'

I Think If I Hadn't Had The Dance Background, It Would Have Been Much Harder As A Kid To Be Like, 'i'm Going To Be An Actress.' But You're Involved With One Area Of The Arts And Other Things Interest You. It Feels Like An Easier Move.
